TRM track,field opens season strong

BREWTON– The T.R. Miller track and field team opened its season Thursday.
Stellar performances for the team came from seniors Allie Nelson and Henry Davison.
Nelson had first place finishes in the 3,200-meter with a time of 11:58; and 800-meter with a time of 2:25.50.
Davison placed first in three events– the 100 meter hurdles (17.86), high jump (5-08.00), and triple jump (42-11.00).
The girl’s team had 20 top-3 finishes.
Aleria Smith placed first in the shot put (35-04.00) and second in the javelin (90-10.00).
Alijah Fountain placed second in the high jump (4-08.00) and triple jump (34-04.00).
Kelsi Lum placed third in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 18.46 and second in the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 53.95.
Raven Ewing and Brianna Dees placed in the top-3 in the 100-meter dash. Ewing finished second with a time of 13.64; while Dees placed third with a time of 13.70. Olivia Blackmon finished third in the 1,600 meter (6:02.28) and second in the 3,200 meter (12:31.00).
Other results from the TRM girl’s team:
- Ivory Johnson, shot put, third place, 31-02.00;
- Taylor Austin, javelin, third place, 89-11.00;
- Payton Baxter, pole vault, 7-00.00
The boy’s team had 14 top-three finishes.
Sam LoDuca and Micah Flores placed first in their respective events. LaDuca recorded the highest measure in the pole vault (9-00.00). Flores finished at the top of the board in the 3,200-meter with a time of 11:57.93.
Joshua Jolly placed second in the 200-meter dash (24.26) and third in the triple jump (39-08.00).
Other results from the TRM boy’s team:
- Rider Jernigan, 3,200 meter, third place, 12:01.55;
- Kristian Smith, discus, second place, 108-10.00;
- Hayden Atkinson, javelin, second place, 122-05.00.
The TRM track and field team will next compete March 16 in Brewton with events beginning at 3:30 p.m.
