B team takes losses

The T.R. Miller Tiger B team dropped their second game in a row as they fell to Monroe County 43-31 Friday night at home.
T.R. Miller is 1-2 on the season now after defeating Northview in the opener and falling to UMS-Wright and Monroeville.
In the Monroeville game, the Tigers fell behind 13-5 in the first quarter and 23-10 at the half.
The Tigers cut the lead to 27-19 with 1:37 left in the third quarter after a steal by Deontae Powell and a lay-up by Cortez Banks. Banks was fouled on the play and converted his free throw for the 3-point play. From there, Monroeville on a 6-0 run to take a 34-19 lead and take the win 43-31.
Banks was the leading scorer for the Tigers with 9 points who will not be back in action until January 3, when they take on Hillcrest.
