TRM track earns 1st place at meet

Twelve schools took part in the T.R. Miller Invitational Track and Field Meet held in Brewton Thursday. The TRM track and field women and men’s team had a good showing, earning first place in their respective divisions. The women’s team tied for first with Catholic-Montgomery with 157 points. The men’s team captured first place with 174 points, ahead of second place Catholic Montgomery with 88.
W.S. Neal finished in 10th place in both the women and men’s divisions.
A highlight for the TRM women’s team was Kelsi Lum, who placed first in the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 52.75. Lum also won third place in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 18.54. Allie Nelson had three top-3 finishes in the 800-meter, 1600-meter and 3,200 meter run. The women’s team had 14 top-3 finishes.
A highlight for the TRM men’s team was Henry Davison. Davison earned first place in the high jump (5–10.00) and triple jump (44–02.00). He earned second place in the long jump (20–08.00). Aaron Nicolson earned first place in the shot put with a distance of 43–10.00. The men’s team had 15 top-3 finishes.
