Tigers sweeps Fairhope in double header

After losing in extra innings the night before, the T.R. Miller Tigers rebounded with two wins in a double header versus Fairhope on Saturday. Miller won game one 11-1, and game two, 4-2.
JoJo Booker secured the win on the mound in game one, striking out eight batters in the decision. Russell Smith was 3-for-4 with 2 RBIs to lead Miller at the plate. Booker was 2-for-3. Drew Williamson had a hit. Joshua Winton drove in the game winning run in the fifth inning with a sacrifice fly to center field.
In game two, down 2-0, with the bases loaded, Hunter Brittain connected for a hit up the middle to score two runs. Later in the inning, O’Neil White delivered a hit up the middle for 2 RBIs. The 4-2 lead was all Williamson needed to close out the game for the win. Joshua Winton started the game and picked up the win, pitching six innings of work.
The Tigers improve to 21-1 for the season. Miller will play home on Tues., April 4, at 5 p.m., versus W.S. Neal.
