Eagles make four errors in loss to Satsuma

The W.S. Neal Eagles jumped out to an early start, but was unable to get anything going after the second inning, falling to the Satsuma Gators 7-2 on Thursday.
Neal scored in the first inning off an error and in the second inning on a fielder’s choice.
Satsuma responded with two runs in the third off a double by Luke Montalvo, one run in the fourth inning off a double by Connor Pierce, and three runs in the fifth off a single by Cody Denny, error and fielder’s choice. An RBI by Denny scored the Gator’s final run in the sixth inning.
Aaron Bosarge was 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Neal. Matt Thomas had an RBI.
Neal moves to 11-7 for the season.
Pierce, Montalvo and Denny each had a mulit-hit game for Satsuma. Montalvo and Denny had 2 RBIs each.
Neal’s Weston Riddle was the losing pitcher. Riddle surrendered six runs, three earned, on five hits and one walk. He had four strikeouts.
Montalvo was the winning pitcher, throwing the complete game. Montalvo surrendered two runs, one earned, on six hits and three walks. He had four strikeouts.
Neal will play in a doubleheader at home versus Excel on Mon., April 10. First pitch is scheduled at 4 p.m.
