Arrests stem from drug charges, more

More than 30 people have been connected with a roundup of suspected illegal drug activity in Brewton, and now police are searching for another 12 more.

Sgt. Andrew Casey with the Brewton Police Department said the recent arrests were made possible following the April grand jury session.

“Over the past few months the Brewton Police Department’s narcotics division has been conducting an investigation that has led to a total of 32 Brewton area residents being charged with the distribution of various controlled substances,” Casey said. “During the investigation various controlled substances including heroin, crystal methamphetamine, crack/cocaine, spice, marijuana, hydrocodone and oxycodone were purchased from the suspects.

“Agents also purchased two handguns from convicted felons and were able indict two registered sex offenders with the distribution and possession of controlled substances,” he said.

Arrested were:

• Keith Anderson Squaire, 42, Brewton, for distribution and possession of a controlled substance (Spice);

• Kara Ivey Tucker, 39, Brewton, for distribution and possession of a controlled substance (meth);

• Herbert Devia Woods, 38, Brewton. for distribution and possession of a controlled substance (crack/cocaine);

• Thomas Edward Watson, Jr., 27, Brewton, for distribution and first-degree possession of marijuana;

• Elbert Lee Ogle, a 65-year-old registered sex offender from Brewton, for distribution, possession of a controlled substance (meth);

• Mary Wiggins Lane, 52, Brewton, for distribution and possession of a controlled substance (Alprazolam);

• Michael Ray Depew, 41, Flomaton, for distribution and possession of a controlled substance (meth);

• Eric Scott Risley, 37, Brewton, for distribution and first-degree possession of marijuana;

• Faith Nicole Lane, 18, Brewton, for distribution and first-degree possession of marijuana;

• Karen Nelson, 47, Brewton, for distribution and first-degree possession of marijuana;

• Sonja Ann Burch, 59, Brewton, for distribution and possession of a controlled substance (hydrocodone);

• Tarik Dashunn Banks, 20, Brewton for distribution and first-degree possession of marijuana;

• Deborah Burkett Hall, 55, East Brewton, for distribution and possession of a controlled substance (meth);

• Russell Lee Jackson, 70, Brewton, for distribution and possession of a controlled substance (Oxycodone);

• Baby Eldgerls Jackson, 72, Brewton, for distribution and possession of a controlled substance (Diazepam) and for being a felon in possession of a firearm;

• Christopher Alex Ewing, 23, Brewton, for distribution and possession of a controlled substance (meth);

• Jennifer Elliott, 33, Brewton, for distribution and possession of a controlled substance (crack/cocaine);

• Heath Crook, 26, Brewton, for distribution and possession of a controlled substance (heroin);

• Christopher Gabel, 24, Brewton, for distribution and possession of a controlled substance (klonopin);

• Mackla Lewis Lane, a 44-year-old convicted sex offender Brewton, for distribution and possession of a controlled substance (crack/cocaine).

• Bradley Scott Brown, 27, Flomaton, two counts of distribution, two counts of possession of a controlled substance (meth) and possession of marijuana I

• Claude Thomas Jr., 44, Castleberry, distribution and possession of marijuana I

• Mary Ann McGhee, 36, Brewton, two counts of distribution, two counts of possession of a controlled substance (meth) and possession of marijuana I

• Warner Anthony Willis, 36, East Brewton, distribution and possession of a controlled substance (meth)

• Lee C. Rabon, 33, Castleberry, attempt to commit a controlled substance crime/distribution

• Windford Gerald Nelson, 73, Brewton, distribution and possession of a controlled substance (hydrocodone)

• Scotty Hammac, 49, Brewton, distribution and possession of a controlled substance (meth)

• Christopher Benjamin Johnson, 43, Brewton, distribution and possession of a controlled substance (meth)
