BCS lunch costs to rise

Brewton City School lunches will be a little more expensive come August.
Monday, the city school board approved a 10-cent increase on all lunch prices, with the exception of the 40-cent reduced lunch price. New prices are as follows:
• full: $2.45;
• faculty: $2.95; and,
• visitor: $3.70.
In other business, the board approved a dual enrollment agreement with Coastal Alabama Community College and amended the system’s graduation requirement to reduce the honor’s endorsement diploma grade point average from 3.7 to 3.5.
The also approved the following new hires:
• Elizabeth Bush as secretary at T.R. Miller High School;
• Tiffany Madden as secretary at Brewton Elementary School;
• Brandon Williams and Benson Stonchier as science teachers at TRM; and,
• Charles Gilcrist as Spanish teacher at TRM.
The board voted to non-renew the contract of Mallory Booker, Brewton Elementary kindergarten teacher, and accepted the resignation of Jean Morris, accounts payable in the central office.
