Former T.R. Miller Tiger, Terry Samuel, was named the Gulf South Conference Defensive Player of the Week at the University of West Alabama for his effort a couple of weeks ago against North Alabama.

Samuel was rewarded for his effort, where he recorded 11 tackles, including a sack and a tackle for loss.

The 6’2 junior has been a bright spot this year for the Tigers, recording 64 tackles in the team’s seven games.

Samuel was also named to the Preseason All-GSC team before the season started.

Samuel said, “It’s a honor being selected as Defensive Player of the Week. I give credit to God and also my coaches for getting us prepared and putting us in position to make plays. Credit to my teammates for executing our game plan to the best of our ability.”
