Locals looking for something fun to do the first weekend in February can attend a Mardi Gras ball locally.

Summer Jacks with Wild at Heart said the organization will hold its fifth ball on Saturday, Feb. 3, at 7:30 p.m., at the Ritz.

“Formal attire is requested,” she said.

Tickets are $25 each, and include entertainment, heavy hors d’oeuvres and beverages.

Jacks said that funds raised from the event go to held sponsor families and senior citizens at Christmastime, as well as providing on graduating senior girl from T.R. Miller and W.S. Neal with a scholarship.

Jacks said there wasn’t anything like a Mardi Gras ball in the Brewton area.

“The closest was in Pensacola or Mobile,” she said. “People were going out of town. It is a fun night. You get to get dressed up and borrow or buy a dress and dance.”
