Twelve minutes without a basket. A 16-0 run by Flomaton and no points in the second quarter.
That was indeed the difference in the game Thursday night at home for the W.S. Neal Lady Eagles as they suffered a 38-19 loss to the Flomaton Lady Hurricanes and fell to 7-15 on the season.
In the game Thursday night, the Lady Eagles jumped out to an early 5-0 lead with 4:25 left in the first before the Lady Hurricanes cut the lead to 5-4 with 3:13 left.
A two-pointer by Katie Elliott gave the Lady Eagles a 7-4 lead, but no one predicted that would be the last points the Lady Eagles would score for 12 minutes and over a quarter and a half of play.
The Lady Hurricanes went on a 7-0 run to end the first quarter with an 11-7 lead and continued their 7-0 run in the second quarter as they extended the run to 14-0 as they held a 7-0 advantage in the second quarter and held an 18-7 lead at the halftime break.

W.S. Neal got a two pointer from Megan Andrews to cut the lead to 28-13 with 1:35 left in the third as Flomaton added a basket to make the lead 30-13.

In the fourth, after three quick points from the Lady Eagles that cut the lead to 30-17 with 6:20, Flomaton held a 36-17 lead at the 4:38 mark as both teams would add two points each as Flomaton went on for the 38-19 win.
Three Lady Eagles scored in the game as Katie Elliott and Megan Andrews each had eight points in the game and Rachel Davis added three points.
W.S. Neal was scheduled to close out their regular season Friday night at home against Georgiana and will be back in action Thursday night at T.R. Miller in the class 4A area two tournament.
