TRM, Flomaton split games on diamond

The T.R. varsity baseball team played a hard fought home conference game Friday against the Flomaton Hurricanes where both teams won a game apiece.
The Tigers and the Hurricanes played a double header, which resulted with the Hurricanes taking game one 7-6. In game two the Tigers responded to the lost winning 12-2.
In game one the Tigers struggled while the Hurricanes received two runs in the first and second inning. The Tigers was scoreless until they got six runs late in the sixth inning.
The Tigers are now 9-of-11 for the season and 5-1 for regions. Drew Williamson is leading in the 3A area high school baseball, as his batting average is .566, with 76 plate appearances and 30 hits.
In game one Drew Williamson was batting a .333, with four plate appearances, three at bats, one run, one hit and one walk. Matthew Smith had three plate appearances, one at bat, one run, one run batted in, two walks and two assists.
Blake Jernigan had four plate appearances, three at bats and one run. Hunter Johnson had three plate appearances, three at bats, one run, one hit and one run batted in. Stokes Jennings averaged .667 in batting against the hurricanes, with four plate appearances, three at bats, one run, two hits and two assists.
Russell Smith had four plate appearances, four at bats and one hit. Jason Konsler had four plate appearances, three at bats and two hits.
The Tigers combined for 34 plate appearances, 26 at bats, six runs, eight hits and five runs batted in.
In game two the Tigers had a great performance as they were in control of the game. The Tigers had six runs in the fifth inning. The Tigers gave up one run in the first inning and one run late in the sixth.
Drew Williamson had another great game with a batting average of 1.000, five plate appearances, three at bats, four runs, three hits, four runs batted in, two walks, one double and one homerun.
Landon Sims also batted 1.000 for that game, with one plate appearances, one at bat, one run, one hit and one run batted in. Edward Hart had four plate appearances, four at bats and one hit. Jason Konsler had five plate appearances, three at bats, one run, two hits and four runs batted in.
The Tigers had a total of 42 plate appearances, 30 at bats, 12 runs, 11 hits and 12 runs batted in. For a total of both games the Tigers combined for 76 plate appearances, 56 at bats, 18 runs, 19 hits and 17 runs batted in.
The Tigers next game will be April 14, against JU Blacksher in Brewton at 4 p.m. starting with the JV.
