As a way of supporting W.S. Neal’s FFA program, a group of locals have banded together to establish an alumni FFA organization. Andrea Saucer, treasurer, said the organization had its inaugural meeting recently and would have another in June. In the meantime, they are working to solicit a force of locals who support the FFA program. Saucer said that potential members do not have to a WSN alumni. “The band has band booster and the football team has the athletic club,” she said. “The FFA program is no different. There are students who cannot afford to do some of the things and we want to help with that.” Saucer said the program is currently working to build a greenhouse and the organization plans to try to help with that. Additionally, they want to help provide Agriscience teacher Josh Coleman with additional access to resources for his students in order to give them the best experience. “We are looking for members,” she said. “We just want people who would like to help. The dues are very minimal per year.” Looking for members. Don’t have to be a prior FFA members. Someone who would like to be part of it to help. Those interested may contact They can contact me Coleman or Saucer or the group has a Facebook page: W.S. Neal Alumni Association. Saucer said she benefitted a lot from being a district and state officer in FFA and she wanted to give other students that opportunity, as well. “You get to meet other students from across the state,” she said. “It’s a great thing.”
