Split decision for JDCC

Plenty of offense great pitching usually equals a win.
That was the case Tuesday at Jefferson Davis Warhawk field as the Warhawks posted 10 runs on 13 hits.
Starting pitcher Derrick Young went seven innings while surrendering only five hits and allowing two runs as the JDCC Warhawks improved to 2-1 on the season after a 10-2 win over Gulf Coast Community College.
All but one Warhawk scored in the game, and six Warhawks drove in runs in the win.
Young struck out four while surrendering three walks in the game.
The Warhawks jumped on Gulf Coast quick and often as they scored three runs in three of the first four innings.
Cody White led the Warhawks with three RBIs.
JDCC 7, Jones 8
The JDCC Warhawks dropped their overall record to 2-3 Thursday when they dropped a double header to Jones Community College 8-7 and 5-3.
In game one, with JDCC leading 6-3 in the bottom of the sixth inning, Jones put up a four-spot in the inning to take a 7-6 lead and held on for the win at 8-7.
Terry McClain was 2-for-4 at the plate with two RBIs and Fred Young was 1-for-2 on the day.
Allen Thompson added three hits for the Warhawks as he went 3-for-4.
Derek Lowery got the start on the mound for the Warhawks as he went 3 innings while giving up 3 hits, 3 run (1 earned) and walking four and striking out one.
JDCC 3, Jones 5
In the second game of the double header it was the curse of the number four again as Jones uses a four-spot in the second inning to defeat JDCC 5-3.
Nick Pannasch led the Warhawks with two runs scored. Hunter Norris had two RBIs in the game.
Michael Clay got the start and the loss on the mound for the Warhawks as he went 3.2 innings giving up 5 hits and 5 runs (1 earned) and walked five while striking out four.
