Brewton 15U fall to Tallassee in state tournament

Brewton 15U all-stars coached by Roberto Flores, Dwayne Ingram and Micah Flores had a great run as the team season ended Sunday with the all-stars falling short to Tallassee all-stars.
The 15U all-star players are Nick Turner, Kannan Carter, Gavin Legget, Jerry Carnley, Jaxson Flores, Miller Hart, Logan Rowell, Tyler Brooks, Nolan Atkinson, Sam Bosarge, Jordan Crane, Kyle Blevins, Isaac Smith and Jacob Bondurant.
In Friday’s game the Brewton all-stars faced West Alabama. Despite a four-run deficit in the third inning, Brewton 15U allstars almost came all the way back, eventually falling 5-4 to West Alabama on Friday. Brewton 15U allstars scored four runs in the failed comeback. Blevins, Crane, Turner, and Atkinson picked up RBIs to lead the rally. Brewton 15U allstars were right in it until West Alabama in the seventh inning. West Alabama fired up the offense in the first inning. King drove in one when he singled. In the bottom of the sixth inning, Brewton 15U all-stars tied things up at 4. Atkinson grounded out, scoring one run. Logan Rowell took the loss for Brewton 15U all-stars. He allowed two hits and one run over two innings, striking out one. Miller Hart started the game for Brewton 15U all-stars. He surrendered four runs on three hits over five innings, striking out two Campbell started the game for West Alabama. He went two innings, allowing no runs on two hits, striking out four and walking one
Brewton 15U allstars saw the ball well, racking up nine hits in the game. Gavin Leggett and Blevins all collected multiple hits for Brewton 15U all-stars. Leggett went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead Brewton 15U allstars in hits. In game two on Friday, Brewton fell to Sylacauga 4-3 on the final play of the game. The game was tied at 3 with Sylacauga batting in the bottom of the eighth. Sylacauga evened things up at three in the bottom of the sixth inning. Kannan Carter took the loss for Brewton . He surrendered one run on three hits over one and one-third innings, striking out one and walking one. Jordan started the game for Brewton 15U all-stars. He lasted three innings, allowing four hits and two runs while striking out two and walking none. Bondurant, Crane, Atkinson, and Leggett all had one hit to lead Brewton 15U allstars.
Flores said, “I am very proud of this 15U baseball team and honored to be coaching them. They are a very talented group that is fundamentally sound and that will only get better with time. They won their district and played some good baseball at the state tournament, and they represented our community well on and off the field. I am excited and can’t wait to see what the future holds for these young men.”
