The W.S. Neal Eagles opened their baseball season Monday in Greenville with an 8-3 win.
W.S. Neal (1-0) collected six hits in the game to Greenville's two. Both teams combined for 12 errors in the game.
William Shell picked up the win on the mound for the Eagles in the opener. Shell went 5 innings allowing one hit, two walks and striking out six.
Tyler Brown went 1-for-4 with two runs scored for the Eagles, as Tyler Cross was 1-for-2 with three runs scored.
Jake Cannon also went 1-for-4 for the Eagles as Wesley Booker went 1-for-3.
The Eagles will be back in action on Thursday when they travel to Central for a 4 p.m. start.
On Saturday, the Eagles will be in Flomaton as they begin play at 12:30 p.m.
Monday, will be the Eagles first home game of the year, as they will face off against Greenville. Game time will be at 6 p.m.
In junior varsity action, the W.S. Neal Eagles lost their opener 5-2.
The junior varsity Eagles will be back in action at 6 p.m. against Central and at 4 p.m. against Greenville in a 5-inning game.
