On a hot, humid Saturday evening, crowds gathered in front of homes on Belleville Avenue and Evergreen Avenue for the 2nd Annual Porchfest.

Stages were setup in the lawns and people from all over flocked to listen to the sounds of music that filled the streets of Brewton.

“It was a hot, but beautiful day to stroll the streets and listen to the many talented artist.  It is amazing to have so much talent right here from our home town and neighboring communities,” Greater Brewton Area Chamber of Commerce president, Linda Williamson said.

Venders had plenty of food and snow cones for purchase and lawn chairs were spread about.

Mike Lambert and Heath Jackson provided help transporting people by golf cart from and to vehicles as well as offered event security.

The main highlight acts of the event were, Chris Golden, son of Brewton music hero, William Lee Golden and also Sweet Tea Trio, who are steadily rising to stardom in country music.

“We are thrilled with the success of the 2^Nd Annual Porchfest.  I have had so many people tell me how much they enjoyed seeing the children riding up and down the streets, playing football in the yards, we even had one house that had a family of squirrels come down and the children were feeding them popcorn. It is just an awesome event for the entire family. We can’t wait till next year’s event,” Williamson said.
