The T.R. Miller swim team defeated Jackson High School on Sept. 25.
The TRM girls won 333 points to Jackson’s 67.
The TRM boys also walked away with a win in their division by defeating Jackson 664 points to Jackson’s 213.
TRM walked away with the overall win.
Junior, Cole Jernigan came in second to defending state champ, Dexter Browning by less than one second in the 50 freestyle.
Miller’s, Matt Daxter and Colby Godwin won the 100-yard butterfly over Dexter Browning.
Several swimmers made sectional cuts and so will many others, depending on the existing cuts for sectionals.
“Jackson is a great team and Jackson swimmer Dexter Browning is defending state champ in the 50 freestyle and in the 100-yard butterfly and to walk away with a performance from three kids against him like that is awesome. If Jernigan would have had a better start off the block, he would have won. The team is doing really well. The boys are undefeated and the girls only have one second place finish. I’m excited for what we are accomplishing,” head coach Angel Boyd said.
