An Andalusia man is facing multiple felony counts of sexual abuse and child pornography charges.
Escambia County Chief Deputy Mike Lambert said Tuesday that the ECSO received a complaint alleging Brandon Hildreth’s involvement in child porn with a child in the Brewton area in mid-September.
Lambert said the investigation was conducted by the sheriff’s department and the child advocacy center.
Lambert said that Hildreth, 20, of Old Salt Road in Andalusia, is charged with a possession of pornographic material involving a minor, production of porn with a minor, sodomy first degree and sexual abuse of a child.
He is being held in the Escambia County Detention Center on a $1 million bond.
“The case remains under investigation,” Lambert said.
Sodomy first is a Class A felony, and according to Alabama law, a person commits the crime of sodomy if he, being 16 years old or old, engages in deviate sexual intercourse with a person who is less than 12 years old; engages in deviate sexual intercourse with another person by forcible compulsion or he engages in deviate sexual intercourse with a person who is incapable of consent by reason of being physically helpless or mentally incapacitated.
Sexual abuse of a child is a class B felony.
Possession of child pornography is a class C felony.
Unlawful production of child pornography is a Class A felony in Alabama.
If convicted, Hildreth is facing at least 10 years and up to 99 years or life in prison for each of the Class A felonies; two years to 20 years for the Class B and one year and one day up to 10 years for the Class B felonies.
Fines could total up to $165,000.
