A new Dollar General is coming to Brewton.
Angela Petkovic, spokesperson for the company, said this week that construction is under way in a new relocation store, which is located at 1514 South Boulevard in Brewton.
The store is being constructed next door to the Shell Station.
Petkovic said the store that is currently located in Alco Plaza will relocate to the new location once it is completed.
She estimates that the store will be completed in late summer 2019.
“The store is expected to be a Dollar General Plus format,” she said. “The Plus format is just our traditional store with approximately 1,100 additional square footage to include expanded cooler and freezer space. When the new store is completed, employees at our current location will simply transfer to the new store.”
Petkovic said that the store will continue to sell quality name-brand and private brand merchandise such as health and beauty products, home cleaning supplies, housewares, stationery, seasonal items and basic clothing.
