On Friday, March 14, the sights and sounds at the Country Club of Brewton will appear to be people enjoying a round of golf and fellowship, but in fact it will be the charitable efforts of the Brewton community raising funds for a good cause.
Members of First United Methodist Church of Brewton are hosting a golf tournament to raise money to support their mission trip to Costa Rica.
One of the most notable efforts of the trip will be to distribute wheelchairs to those in need. The mission trip is being led by the Rev. Ed Glaize and will take place during the spring break holidays.
The golf tournament is one of many events along with contributions from individuals that have taken place over the past year to finance the trip.
The cost of participating in Friday's four-man scramble is $50 per person.
Hole sponsorships are also available for $100.
Contact Joey Turner at the Country Club of Brewton (251) 867-3408 or e-mail him at ccbmanager@bellsouth.net to reserve your spot.
