Mrs. Bennie Ruth Green Strength, 90, died Sunday, March 2, 2008, at her home. She was a native of Decatur and had lived in Flomaton before moving to Texas in 1996. She was a member of Flomaton First Baptist Church and a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas W. and Nettie R. Green Strength; her husband, Henry Judson Strength; two brothers and two sisters.
She is survived by a son, Benny (Pat) Strength of Andalusia; a daughter, Peggy (Norman) Slocum of Schertz, Texas; five grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Funeral services were held Thursday, March 6, at 11 a.m. at Flomaton Funeral Home chapel with Dr. Jerry Keese officiating. Burial followed at Flomaton Cemetery with Flomaton Funeral Home directing.
