A local student is in a Montgomery hospital after a shooting incident in the Castleberry area Friday evening.

At the request of the Castleberry Police Department, the Alabama Bureau of Investigations is assisting with the shooting incident.

Public information officer Jamie Maloy said that three individuals have been arrested in connection with the shooting, but did not release the names of the juvenile.

The victim has been identified locally as 17-year-old is a student at T.R. Miller High School and is being treated at Baptist South in Montgomery.

Maloy said that more arrests and charges are possible as the investigation is still ongoing, and that all investigative findings will be turned over to the Conecuh County District Attorney’s office.
