7 arrested after shakedown

Seven inmates were charged following the Feb. 9 shakedown of the Escambia County Detention Center, Sheriff Heath Jackson said this week.
During the shakedown, Jackson said that during the search officers located numerous items of contraband and homemade weapons and drugs during the three-hour shakedown.
Jackson said that cell phones, six phone chargers, four handmade knives, a quantity of pills, three bags of tobacco, one bag of spice, four lighters, six books with hidden compartments and one tattoo gun was found.
Arrested were:
• Christopher Ladale Pugh, 26, of Brewton, for promoting prison contraband first (cellular phone);
• Darrell Octavius Brown, 29, of Atmore, for promoting prison contraband first (cellular phone);
• Marcus O’Neal Pritchett, 26, of Selma, for promoting prison contraband first (cellular phone);
• Marcus Joseph Dooms, 33, of Mobile, for promoting prison contraband first (cellular phone);
• Tamichael Vantrell Hudson, 47, of Mobile, for promoting prison contraband (cellular phone);
• Kevin Lee Watson, 44, of Atmore, for promoting prison contraband (cellular phone);
• Willie James Henry, 40, of Mobile, for promoting prison contraband (cellular phone).
“This is still an ongoing case and more charges are expected,” Jackson said.
