Mr. Malvin T. Peevy, 85, died Saturday, March 8, 2008 in a local hospital. He was a native of Escambia County and a resident of Mobile before returning to the Brewton area in 1983. He was a veteran of World War II having served with the U.S. Navy. He was retired from International Paper and was a member of First United Methodist Church in Brewton. He was preceded in death by a brother, Luther C. Peevy of Arlington, Va.
He is survived by his wife, Sue Peevy of Brewton; two daughters, Paulette Hudson of Bay Minette, and Kathy Sue Jefferies of Mobile; five brothers, Jack Peevy and Durwood Peevy, both of East Brewton, Maxwell Peevy of Mobile, and Leonard Peevy and Lyman Peevy, both of Brewton; and three grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Sunday, March 9, at 3 p.m. at the chapel of Craver's Funeral Home with Dr. Ed Glaize officiating. Burial followed at Spears Cemetery with Craver's Funeral Home directing.
