T.R. Miller’s varsity softball team pushed through a J.U. Blacksher push in the fourth inning of last week’s game, when the Tigers let the Bulldogs score three runs.
That wasn’t enough to stop the Lady Tigers who won 11-5.
Miller scored in the first inning when Sailor Smith grounded out and scored a run.
Makenzie Thomas earned the victory on the mount. She allowed 13 hits and five runs over seven innings, striking out three and walking none.
B. Crosby took the loss for JUB.
The Lady Tigers had 10 hits in the game, including Gabbi Solomon, Ansley Till, Addi Smith and Thomas who each had multiple hits.
Solomon led the Tigers with three hits in five at-bats.
No errors were made by the Lady Tigers.
Miller scored five runs in the first; one in the third, one in the fourth, four in the fifth.
The Lady Tigers played Flomaton yesterday, but results were not available when The Brewton Standard went to press.
So far, the team is 4-6 this season with wins against JUB, Pace, Escambia County and Elberta.
