McBride’s death ruled accidental

Autopsy reports show that the Pollard woman who was found near the Escambia River late last year drowned with no foul play suspected.
Eva McBride, 74, of Pollard was last seen Nov. 23, 2018, in the evening hours, and her body was found on the banks of the river some 16 days later on Dec. 9.
The Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office said they received a call saying a body had been found along the banks approximately a mile south of Terrell Landing Boat Ramp in Jay.
The autopsy also said her death was an accident. It was certified on Feb. 12.
Autopsy reports also show that McBride suffered from Alzheimer’s and dementia.
