Mike Haveard's family is hoping to see a reduction in the $8 million bond that is holding him at the Escambia County Detention Center.
A bond hearing is tentatively scheduled for Tuesday at the Escambia County Courthouse.
Haveard is being held on the large bond amount after a special grand jury handed down indictments accusing him of four counts criminal solicitation to commit first-degree theft of property, four counts of unlawful distribution of a controlled substance and four counts of unlawful possession of a controlled substance.
The four charges of criminal solicitation to commit theft of property, first degree, involve alleged activity by Haveard showing an intent that another person engage in conduct constituting the crime of theft of property first degree by deception.
References to Haveard being a flight risk have been circulating around town, Candy said.
Earnest White will be serving as counsel for Haveard at the bond hearing. Attempts to contact White and Escambia County District Attorney Steve Billy were unsuccessful at press time.
