W.S. Neal looks for big improvements in 2019

The W.S. Neal Eagles are looking to bounce back from a sluggish 2018 season as Andro Williams enters his second season as the head coach.
Things get started on the road for the Eagles on Aug. 30 with a contest with Satsuma.
W.S. Neal lost last year’s game 39-20, but have a 3-2 all-time record against Satsuma.
The Eagles move into Class 4A, Region 1 play when they travel to Evergreen to take the Hillcrest-Evergreen Jaguars.
Hillcrest-Evergreen leads the series 11-9 and won last year’s game 62-20.
On Sept. 13, W.S. Neal travels to Grove Hill where they are set for a region game with the Clarke County Bulldogs.
The Bulldogs won last year’s contest 46-13 and hold a 10-6 record over the Eagles.
The Eagles will be at home on Sept. 20 for a region match with the Escambia County Blue Devils.
Escambia County won last year’s meeting 46-14 and is 32-20 all-time against the Eagles.
W.S. Neal remains at home on Oct. 4 with a region game with Monroe County.
The Eagles have won the last six meetings between the two schools, including a 45-7 win in 2018. This will be the Eagles homecoming game.
W.S. Neal is 27-14-1 against Monroe County.
On Oct. 11, the Eagles head for Mobile for a region contest with the Williamson Lions.
Williamson won last year’s game 26-14. It was the first ever meeting between the two schools.
The Eagles travel to Andalusia on Oct. 18 for a region match with the Bulldogs.
Andalusia won last year’s game 49-7 and holds a 12-6 record over the Eagles.
Region play comes to an end on Oct. 25 when the Eagles host the UMS-Wright Bulldogs.
UMS-Wright holds a 12-4 record against W.S. Neal and won last year’s game 29-0.
W.S. Neal closes out the regular season when they host T.R. Miller on Nov. 1 for the Battle of Murder Creek.
T.R. Miller leads the all-time series 53-23 and won last year’s game 14-12.
