United Fund of Brewton and East Brewton kicked off the annual fundraising campaign on Oct. 1, 2019.
Within the area, United Fund supports 15 area agencies, with 98% of the money raised going directly to the agencies.
The local agencies include: the Brewton Area YMCA, Brewton Public Library, Escambia County Cooperative Library System, Christian Community Benevolent Fund, Wheels of Wellness, The Yancey Jernigan Foundation, Boy Scouts-Gulf Coast Council, Escambia County Regional Child Advocacy Center, Hope Place Family Resource, Reach Out and Read, and Alabama Cooperative, American Red Cross of East Escambia County, Brewton Parks and Recreation Department, East Brewton Youth Sports, and Disabled Children and Adults Goodwill.
Currently, the United Fund gives over 98 cents of every dollar raised to the 15 member agencies.
“This year’s goal is $80,000 and we are seeking help in reaching that goal. […] Any amount will be appreciated,” stated United Fund President Kirk Garrett.
Individuals have the flexibility to direct donations to one particular agency or contribute to the general fund that is split among all agencies.
Garrett concluded, “The United Fund appreciates your considering this request.”
