COVID-19 testing will be available next week in Brewton.

Shared by the Escambia County Health Department earlier today, testing will take place in Brewton every Mon., April 6- May 11, from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m.

The branch will be a drive-thru test site only. The branch in Atmore will offer testing later that afternoon from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. Appointments are required at this time.

Individuals that qualify for testing include those aged 65 and older or with underlying health issues such as diabetes, heart disease, asthma, cancer, or other conditions that weaken the immune system. According to the ECHD, if anyone is experiencing symptoms of COVID-19 and fall into the category above, they can seek testing this upcoming Mon.

A map of all testing sites and cases can be accessed here. At this time, the Alabama Department of Public Health has listed the ECHD and Main Street Family Care in Brewton as testing sites. As of Fri. afternoon, the ADPH has reported 1,454 positive cases in the state and confirmed 21 deaths related to the virus.
