Escambia County Commission provides update on COVID-19

The Escambia County Commission will end its emergency order closing county facilities effective May 04, 2020. This will result in the following changes:
- The Escambia County Courthouse in Brewton will re-open for normal business hours effective May 04, 2020.
- The Atmore Satellite Office is expected to re-open on May 11, 2020, the one week delay is due to the ongoing efforts to install barriers that will aid in reducing the spread of COVID-19.
- All other county owned facilities will continue to operate during normal business hours.
Citizens are encouraged to coordinate with the County Departments and take reasonable precautions to limit in person appearances to acts that cannot be addressed over the phone, by mail, or online. According to Alabama Supreme Court, the District and Circuit Court will remain closed through May 15, 2020, except for essential actions, for questions concerning the courts contact the Office of the Escambia County Circuit Clerk at 251-867-0225.
The County Commission encourages everyone to continue practicing social distancing. “The most important thing is that everyone in the community do their part to stay informed and to recognize that everyone in the community has a responsibility to help reduce the spread of COVID-19.
