The Brewton City council certified three unopposed elections for the upcoming municipal election. Carrie Brown, Feast Broughton, and Yank Lovelace will be running unopposed during the August election. According to the city, the other three incumbents will be running against candidates. On the ballot for District 2 is Lawrence Weaver (I) and David Jennings. For District 4, Joe Watson (I) is running against Patrick Hendrieth and for District 5, Cheryl Barton is running against Richard Royce. During the meeting, the council appointed poll officers to serve during the election. The election is set for Aug. 25.
