Junior Miss organization sets orientation meeting

Officials with the Escambia County Junior Miss Scholarship program have announced the date for orientation in anticipation of the 2008 Junior Miss event.
The orientation session will be held Sunday, April 27, at 2pm at Escambia Academy in Canoe just north of Atmore.
In order to be eligible for competition, contestants must currently be juniors in high school who will graduate in 2009.
Program coordinators encouraged all young women interested in participating in this year's event attend the informational orientation session.
The Escambia County Junior Miss program will be held July 27, in Woodfin-Patterson Auditorium located on the campus of Jefferson Davis Community College in Brewton.
The winner of the Escambia County program will compete in Alabama's Junior Miss program in January 2009 in Montgomery.
The winner of the Alabama program will go to Mobile, AL in June 2009 to compete for America's Junior Miss.
National sponsors of America's Junior Miss include Mobile County, the City of Mobile, and the Mitchell Company. National category sponsors include Alabama Power, Encore Rehabilitation, Mobile Gas, Regions Bank, and Wintzell's Oyster House.
The 51st annual America's Junior Miss National Finals will be held in Mobile, June 26, 27, and 28.
