Mrs. Wanda Gail Taylor Gleaton, 66, died Friday, April 18, 2008, at her residence on West Granberry Street after an extended illness. She was a native of Tuka, Miss., and a former resident of Pensacola, Fla., before moving to Brewton in 1966. She was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church of Brewton. She and her husband owned and operated Gleaton's Cleaners.
She is survived by her mother, Velma Taylor of of Tuka, Miss.; her husband, John M. Gleaton Sr. of Brewton; two sons, John M. (Amy) Gleaton Jr. and Jason (Teresa) Gleaton, both of Brewton; three brothers, Hayden (Dee) Taylor of Tuka, Doug (Jeanette) Taylor of Vyhalia, Miss., and Harry (Carleen) Taylor of Potts Camp, Miss.; four sisters, Betty Holland, Jan Tyson, and Nina Frederick, all of Tuka, and Glynda (Donnie) Levell of Rienzi, Miss.; and four grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Sunday, April 20, from 12:30 p.m. to the 2 p.m. services at Brewton First Baptist Church.
Funeral services will follow the visitation at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Chuch with the Rev. John Finklea and the Rev. Jack Fitts officiating. Burial will follow at Weaver Cemetery on Appleton Road with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing.
