Mr. Benjamin Joseph (B.J.) Martin, 29, died Sunday, May 25, 2008, in Chickasaw.
He was a native of Century, Fla., a former resident of Crestview, Fla., and a resident of Chickasaw, for the past three months. He was a member of the Union Local 89 of Mobile, and attended the Lighthouse Baptist Church and the Center Pointe Assembly of God Church.
He is survived by his wife, Kristina Marie Martin of Chickasaw; three sons, Alex Martin and Dylan Martin, both of Crestview, and Isaac Martin of Chickasaw; two daughters, Bell Martin and Ana Martin, both of Chickasaw; his mother, Patricia Rydzowski of Century, Fla.; three brothers, Chuck Day, Shannon Martin and Adam Martin, all of Flomaton; two sisters, Robi Carden of Jay, Fla.; Vicki Harris of Wiggins, Miss.; and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held Thursday, May 29, at 2 p.m. at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Spence Walker officiating. Burial followed at Poplar Dell Cemetery. Pallbearers were Chuck Day, Shannon Martin, Adam Martin, Isaiah Day, Paul Smith and Ron Collingsworth. Honorary pallbearers were Jake Carden, Pete Carden, John Chavers, Christopher White, Kenny Higdon and George Chavers.
