Brewton and East Brewton residents will be making a decision on who will be serving as council members and mayor for the two communities in August. Those interested in holding the positions should prepare for qualifying for election beginning July 1.
The same qualifying period applies to those interested in being placed on the ballot for elections in East Brewton, Karen Singleton, city clerk said.
Candidates who wish to be considered for any seat in the Aug. 26 election are required to complete certain forms and candidacy requirements before they can be placed on the ballot, Angel said.
Along with the completion of forms, potential candidates must meet other qualifying requirements, Singleton said.
All forms for qualifying as a municipal candidate are available at the clerk's office at Brewton City Hall and East Brewton City Hall.
