A star is coming to Brewton and she’s going to feed you.
Star Maye will be arriving in Brewton later this month to prepare a special meal at Drexel & Honeybee’s Donations Only Restaurant.
Lisa McMillan, owner at D&HB, said the chef will be preparing a special meal for those who join them at the restaurant on Sept. 27.
“Chef Star will be preparing shrimp and grits and chicken and waffles — her specialties,” McMillan said. “This will be a ‘Do What I Do’ brunch for us.”
Star, who is a mother and a Navy veteran, is the executive chef and co-owner of Anzie Blue, a Nashville, Tenn., restaurant.
McMillan said the event is open to the public and will offer a chance to meet the chef and enjoy her famous cooking skills.
“It’s going to be a good time with some good food,” McMillan said. “You don’t want to miss it. After serving in the US Navy, and leaving the food industry for a while she has had the great opportunity of being captain of her own ship. Anzie Blue is deemed a hot spot by the city’s food publications and is touted as ‘Best Brunch’. So make sure you don’t miss it. Let’s honor her for her time, and come out and support her.”
Drexell & Honeybee’s Donations Only Restaurant has been featured around the country in both print and video media outlets touting their method of ‘feeding the need’ for hungry visitors to the restaurant.
The restaurant is open Tuesday thru Thursday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The restaurant is located near historic downtown Brewton at 109 Lee Street.
