Stone hopes to be graduated with a DPT and working as a physical therapist in 10 years.
Dunaway hopes to have completed her schooling and be successful in nursing in 10 years.
Stone says the biggest influence in her chosen career path is due to the suggestion of her mother.
“My mom first suggested the idea of going into physical therapy,” Stone said. “But, my dad also made a big impact when his active lifestyle had to be put on hold due to some surgeries. I saw physical therapy help him get back on track.”
Stone enjoys reading, finding new music, singing her her church choir, working out, cooking and spending time with family.
Stone is the granddaughter of Judy Henrix and the late Keith Hendrix, Janice Metts and the late Howard Metts, Elizabeth Stone and the late Mack Stone.
Dunaway said her parents have had the biggest impact on her decisions.
“My parents have played a very big part in the decisions I have made as to the college I’ll be attending,” Dunaway said. “They have encouraged me to follow my dreams while also teaching me to make the best decisions that will better my future. As to my career choice, I know I wanted to be in the medical field as a young girl. As I have grown older, I have focused more towards nursing.”
Dunaway enjoys spending time with fmail and friends and says she is blessed to have close relationships with her grandparents and cousins. She currently works at the Brewton YMCA as an After School Counselor. She attends church with her parents and grandmother and never turns down a day at the beach.
Dunaway is the granddaughter of Steve and Sherry Dunaway and Joe and Evelyn Edwards.
Stone and Dunaway will deliver speeches during commencment exercises set for May 23 at W.S. Neal High School’s stadium in East Brewton. Ceremonies begin at 7 p.m.
