Brewton man killed in Monday crash

A Brewton man was listed as one of two fatalities Monday as the result of a crash that occurred near Repton.
According to a release from the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s Evergreen post, the two-vehicle crash occurred at approximately 4:25 a.m. Monday, June 19.
Phillip D. Hall, 65, of Brewton and Taleik N. Benjamin, 22, of Evergreen, were both pronounced deceased at the scene of the crash.
Benjamin was driving a 2016 Kia Sportage that collided head-on with the 2016 Dodge Dart being driving by Hall.
Benjamin was not using a seat belt at the time of the crash.
Benjamin and Hall were both pronounced deceased at the scene.
According to Highway Patrol officials, the crash occurred on U.S. 84 near the 81 mile marker, approximately two miles west of Repton city limits, in Conecuh County.
Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate and no other details have been released.
