Students at Brewton Elementary School will see a familiar face as the new leader.
Tania Thompson has been named as the principal at the school taking on the role for the coming year, according to Brewton City Schools Superintendent Dr. Kenneth Varner.
“Brewton City Schools is proud to announce the hiring of Mrs. Tania Thompson as the principal of Brewton Elementary School,” Varner said. “Mrs. Thompson’s experience includes 19 years of teaching and administrative work at various elementary grade levels.”
Thompson, who has stepped into the role at Brewton Elementary School already, will be in a position to continue her role in education for students.
“Mrs. Thompson is an exceptional educational leader with a wealth of experience and a passion for nurturing young minds,” Varner said. “Mrs. Thompson brings boundless enthusiasm and a commitment to student success to her new role with Brewton City Schools. Her unwavering dedication to academic excellence and her compassionate nature make her a truly outstanding principal for Brewton Elementary School.”
Thompson steps into the role after the departure of Barry Wood who served as the school’s principal for the past three years. According to reports, Wood has taken the position as principal at Pleasant Home School in Covington County. The school is within the Covington County School District and is near Andalusia.
