Mental health includes our emotional, psychological, and social well-being. It affects how e think and how we handle daily situations. Right now, one in five Americans suffers from some mental health issues.
Whitney Elliott Jerkins is now offereing in-person therapy to help local residents — children and adults — cope with mental health challenges.
Enliven Therapy, LLC., is now open in East Brewton at 701 Forrest Ave., next door to Horton’s Insurance. Jerkins is receiving new patients — on-line and in person.
“I started my practice in November 2022 with on-line therapy,” Jerkins said. “I started to get a higher demand for in person session, especially with children. That prompted me to open an office and I did that seeing my first in-person client on Sept. 18.”
Jerkins says she will continue to offer on-line services for those who perfer therapy in that manner.
“I still do on-line therapy as well,” Jerkins said. “That allows me to see anyone in the state. I have patients in Birmingham and Huntsville, and other areas, that would prevent them from coming to my office here. I want to continue to serve those who have been seeing me.”
Jerkins said the on-line offerings allow some flexibility on hours.
