Brewton man dies in early Friday crash

A Brewton man has been identified as the person killed in a crash along I-65 near Evergreen early Friday morning.
According to reports from the Alabama Law Enforcment Agency’s Highway Patrol Division, Carl R. Moye, 42, of Brewton was killed in a two-vehicle crash involving a commercial vehicle at approximately 4:15 a.m. Friday.
Moye was fatally injured when the 2015 Mazda 6 he was driving struck the rear of the 2016 Freightliner tractor-trailer driven by Jermaine L. Abner, 41, of Greenville.
Moye was not using a seatbelt at the time of the crash and was pronounced deceased on scene.
The crash occurred on Interstate 65 near the 98 mile marker, two miles north of Evergreen city limits, in Conecuh County.
Nothing further is available as Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.
