Local girl sings at Radio City Music Hall

Performers have long dreamed of being on stage at the world-famous Radio City Music Hall in New York city.
For one local girl, that dream has become a reality twice already in her young lifetime.
Lorelei Godwin, 8, performed on stage at the “largest indoor theatre in the world” on Dec. 11 as one of 35 children as the opening act for the Radio City Rockettes Christmas Spectacular event.
Godwin performed last year as well with Spotlight Kidz. She was the youngest performer on stage with only two seven year olds among performer.
Godwin was part of the event after auditioning for a spot on stage for the 2023 event. She was among performer between the ages of 7 and 16 that included singers from 11 states and Canada. She was the only performer selected from Alabama. All performers selected have previous professional performance credits.
In a published story about the performance, the event has been highlighted by young performers for seveal years.
“Since 2018 the Spotlight Kidz, under the direction of Sandy Kost-Sterner, has been performing every year, with exception of Covid 2020, at this annual holiday event. The cast for this performance consists of 42 youngsters and teens from 11 states and Canada.
This year’s guest performers are Audrey Bennett and Kennedy Rae. Audrey was the original “Little Anna” in FROZEN on Broadway, “Little Amelie” in AMELIE on Broadway and played the role of “Gretl” in THE SOUND OF MUSIC National Tour. Kennedy’s highlights include winning the first season of CBS’ COME DANCE WITH ME and was also in ANNIE Live on NBC.
Lorelei is the daughter Carrie and Tyler Godwin of Brewton. She is a homeschool student who is involved in community theatre, dance and is professionally respresented Carson Kolker Organization in New York.
