In less than 24 hours, two Escambia County races will be decided.
The polls for Tuesday’s election will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. with two winners to be named following the poll closing Tuesday night.
The race for County Commission District 2 will be decided as voters choose incumbent Raymond Wiggins or challenger Lew Najor.
The race for Escambia County Board of Education District 3 is also up for grabs. Incumbent Mike Edwards is challenged for the position by Jerry Wilson.
One other race will also be determined with the Tuesday, March 5 election.
Rep. Jerry Carl (R-Mobile) is being challenged for the seat in Alabama’s 1st Congressional District by fellow Republican Rep. Barry Moore.
The race is showing two incumbents vying for the seat of Alabama’s 1st Congressional District, thanks to a court-ordered redistricting last year. Moore, who currently represents the 2nd Congressional District, is hoping to unseat Carl in the election.
The Brewton Standard will post results of those races as soon as possible on election night. Follow us here or on our social media platforms.
