Raymond Wiggins will keep his seat as the County Commissioner representing District 2 after receiving nearly 66 percent of the votes in the election Tuesday.
Wiggins defeated challenger Lew Najor who received just over 34 percent of the vote.
As of press time Tuesday night, 1,097 votes had been cast in the race between Wiggins and Najor.
In the County Board of Education seat for District 3, incumbent Mike Edwards was unseated by political newcomer Jerry Wilson.
Just over 700 votes were cast in that race with Wilson taking nearly 71 percent of the vote. Edwards received just less than 30 percent of the vote.
In the Presidential primary, Escambia County voters — both Democrat and Republican — turned out to make their choices known.
President Joe Biden took just over 90 percent of the vote on the Democratic ticket. Dean Phillips received 4.5 percent while 3.4 percent went uncommitted.
On the Republican ticket, former President Donald Trump took 89 percent of the votes in the county with 2,947 votes counted as of press time.
In the race for the Representative of the 1st Congressional District, Escambia County voters chose Jerry Carl by 70 percent of the votes with Barry Moore receiving 30 percent of the vote.
