The Mud Bug Mafia will take over Jennings Park on Sunday to offer up freshly-cooked crawfish and shrimp dinners.
The annual event hosted by the Greater Brewton Area Chamber of Commerce will feature plenty of the ‘mud bugs’ along with shrimp plated up with corn, sausage and potatoes to enjoy for the afternoon.
Kicking off at 2 p.m., the event will feature musical entertainment as well. The Silas Creek Band will be performing throughout the event set to conclude by 5 p.m.
Along with the crawfish and shrimp dinners, pizza will be available by the slice for those who are looking for a more tame fare for a meal Sunday afternoon.
There are no pre-sales for this event and all plates will be sold on a first come, first served basis.
Chamber directors will be assisting with the cooking and serving of the meal along with staff and volunteers. Plates of all shrimp, all crawfish or a combination of the two will be available.
Crawfish plates with 3 lbs. of crawfish is $25, Shrimp plates (determined by size) are $25 with a combo plate for $30 including corn, potatoes and sausage on all plates.
The 2024 Kick it at the Creek t-shirts are also on sale at the Chamber office on Douglas Avenue. Shirts are short-sleeved and are $20 each for all available sizes. Shirts can be purchased at the Chamber office through Thursday afternoon and will be available Sunday at the Chamber trailer in the park.
Everyone is invited to bring a lawn chair or blanket to enjoy a great meal and entertainment in the heart of downtown Brewton.
