Extension Service offers summer learning

For those looking to busy up their summers, the Escambia County Cooperative Extension Service is your go-to place.
The fun begins with a Summer Beekeeping event set for this Saturday, June 15 beginning at 9 a.m. The workshop will offer plenty of information that will help you start the beekeeping process or better serve your current hives of bees. The workshop will conclude at noon.
For those who want to preserve their harvests from gardens this summer, a special Pressure Canning Workshop is set for July 26 from 9 a.. to 12:30 p.m. The cost of the class is $12 per person and attendees will learn pressure canning basics with hands-on learning and receive healthy eating tips with green beans. And, everyone will take home a canned product from the event.
And if growing your own garden sounds interesting, consider signing up as a Master Gardener Volunteer. If you love plants and volunteering your time, this hybrid course will hep you learn and grow in gardening. Apply and pay the $150 course fee by June 30 with classes beginning Aug. 8.
