W.S. Neal’s Eagles hosted St. Michael’s in East Brewton Friday night in a region match-up in the 4A Region 1 division.
The Eagles worked hard in the first half of play showing St. Michael’s their power. The score would be a back-and-forth situation with both teams scoring during the first two quarters of play.
St. Michael’s would pull away and stretch a lead over the Eagles late in the first half taking a 36-22 lead into the locker room.
As the second half rolled, St. Michael’s would get the ball first and make good on the possession stretching their lead over the Eagles. They would continue to dominate the scoring in the second half but would have to battle a determined defensive line from the W.S. Neal team.
Half way through the fourth quarter of the game, the Eagles would make one more run for the goal line and find another touchdown on the boards. With the PAT unsuccessful, the Eagles would settle for six on the play bringing the score to 28-46 with St. Michael’s in the lead.
The final moments of the game would find the score unchanged as the Eagles held St. Michael’s out of the end zone to end but would end the game with a loss.
The final score would be W.S. Neal 28, St. Michael’s 46.
The Eagles will be back on the road next Friday night traveling to Orange Beach for another region game. Kick off will be at 7 p.m.
