Brewton area residents will see some of their own neighbors on stage in upcoming performances presented by the Railway Arts Guild theatre troupe.
The group’s Fall Production, “You Can’t Take It With You,” will be presented at the T.R. Miller High School Auditorium with three peformances. The shows will be held at 7 p.m. on Oct. 3 and 5, with a 2 p.m. performance set for Oct. 6.
T.R. Miller High School is located at 1835 Douglas Avenue. Tickets will be available at the door, or they may be purchased in advance from the group’s website at www.railwayartsguild.org.
“You Can’t Take It With You”, the Pulitzer Prize winning comedy written by Moss Hart and George S. Kaufman, is a hilarious story of familial foibles and raucous relatives as the eccentric and fun-loving Vanderhof-Sycamore-Carmichael clan play host to the straight-laced Kirby family. A simple dinner plan devolves from hijinks to full-blown disaster as unlucky lovebirds Alice and Tony struggle to keep their relationship (and their families) from collapsing.
As an audience note, this show includes sudden loud noises and several instances of flashing lights.
