Three law enforcement agencies scoured an area around W.S. Neal Middle School in East Brewton Monday in search of a man officials say ran from a hearing at the Escambia County Courthouse earlier that afternoon.
East Brewton and Brewton police officers along with officers from the Escambia County Sheriff's department were lead on a chase by Lavarius Bell in an around the W.S. Neal Middle School area.
East Brewton Police Chief B.C. Cooper could not be reached for comment Tuesday concerning the incident.
Smith said Cooper apparently confronted the subject who then ran into a wooded area in the Williamson Street area.
Smith said the chase ended a short time later when the subject was apprehended.
Bell was booked into the Escambia County Detention Center and was charged with violation of parole.
Additional details concerning the search and apprehension were not available at press time.
